The VI Forum of Russian and Japanese Universities' Rectors

The VI Forum of Rectors of Russian and Japanese Universities "Universities and Society: Science and Education in the Contemporary World" was inaugurated at the MSU Fundamental Library Intellectual Center on October 6, 2016. Over 60 Rectors of Japanese Universities and 40 Rectors of Russian universities came to Moscow to participate in the event.

President of the Russian Rectors Union Viktor Sadovnichy opened the event. President of Tohoku University Mr. Satomi Susumu along with Minister and Advisor, Head of the information Department of the Japanese Embassy in the Russian Federation Mr. Otsuki Kotaro welcomed all the participants of the event.

President of the Russian Rectors Union, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy, Director of the International Relations Department of the Bureau of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology of Japan Mr. Hideki Ivabuchi and Rectors of the leading universities of Japan and Russia delivered their reports at the plenary session.

A Memorandum of Understanding between Lomonosov Moscow State University and Kobe Gakuin University and a final Communiqué including a Chapter dedicated to the further development of the Association of Russian and Japanese Universities were signed at the Meeting.

After signing the Agreements all participants and guests of the event were invited to attend MSU Botanical Garden, "Pharmaceutical Garden", where they took part in the opening ceremony of the Victory Greenhouse.
